The news report about the three year old boy who was lost in the Amazon jungle, for eleven days has had me thinking about luck. I grew up listening to the ballad of The Little Boy Lost, a song inspired by the search for a four year old child lost in the Australian bush, so this story really grabbed my attention.

 How much luck kept this toddler alive in a jungle full of jaguars, hawks, snakes, with no food or drink, for eleven days? How much luck had his cousin choose to go hunting in that area? And isn't it incredible that this little boy gets the chance to grow up? No matter whether he affects the world at large or just his own circle of family and friends, I hope he appreciates the luck that kept in here.
